Chapter Rules of RHO Chapter: (follow those
|
I. Finances-Obligations of Delta Kappa Gamma members include:
A. Dues are payable before or at the October meeting in the amount of $70.00 for Active members and $37.00 for Reserve members. (Active $40.00- Int’l, $17.00-Omega State, $1.00-Scholarship, $12.00-RHO Dues); (Reserve $20.00-Int’l, $9.00-Omega State, $1.00-Scholarship, $7.00-RHO Dues). Dues maybe paid in increments from July to October 31, Preferably paid before or at the October meeting. (International provides that a member with outstanding dues after November 1 may be dropped.) B. Chapter treasurer pays bills and keeps all records. Finance committee may authorize chapter president to pay bills. C. The proposed Guideline includes the annual dues and a $4.00 courtesy fee for cards, flowers, etc. D. A member who fails to wear her key to Chapter meetings shall forfeit a dime to the Treasurer. E. A $25 donation will be paid to any facility used for meetings other than a restaurant. F. Rho Chapter will pay registration and meals included on the form, for the Chapter President, for Omega State Conference, Conventions and Executive Board Meetings. II. A. Active members are encouraged to attend regularly scheduled meetings and report non attendance prior to meetings. Each member shall accept responsibility for participation in Chapter activities, such as: Attend meetings B. Orientation to Delta Kappa Gamma, Rho Chapter shall be given in person to a prospective member by an active member. The prospective member may attend meetings before joining. The years programs are selected at a special summer meeting. C. Members may help the Research and Historical Records Chairman by gathering information about RHO Chapter members in newspaper articles, pictures, etc., for the scrapbook. D. Members should apply for Delta Kappa Gamma scholarships. E. Members should report promptly to the Courtesy Committee any illnesses or deaths of members/ or their immediate family. The Courtesy Committee will send a card and a red rose or plant to the member for personal illnesses and family bereavement. III. Officers, Committees, Boards A. Elected-President, Vice President, Second Vice President (also Educational Excellence chairman),Recording/ corresponding secretary. B. Appointed-Treasurer and Parliamentarian. C. Committees and Boards-created according to Omega State Bylaws. IV. Traditions A. Included in our traditions is the proper wearing of the key. This emblem of membership should be worn in a vertical position on the left side over the heart and shall be worn above all other pins etc. It should be worn at all Chapter meetings and may be worn properly anytime. B. Names of Secret Sisters are disclosed at the October meeting and new names are drawn for the following year. Cards or gifts are exchanged at Birthdays and Christmas and may be sent on other occasions. Participation in this activity is not required. However, if you take a name at the October drawing, please see that the person is remembered at the two designated times-Birthday & Christmas. C. Should a person leave the organization, she is encouraged to give her key/pins back to the chapter. Member may wish to include a clause in her will stating that the key/pins be returned to the chapter. |
